Martha de la Torre’s Entrepreneurship and Community Involvement was Recognized at the 7th NLBWA-LA Latinas in Business Awards

El Clasificado’s Publisher and CEO, Martha de la Torre, was recognized at the National Latina Business Women Association's annual Honoring Latinas in Business Awards, an event that celebrates the success and triumph of outstanding businesswomen in the LA Metro area who have demonstrated financial success and a commitment to the betterment of the Latino community.

"We look forward to continue providing empowering information for our Latino neighborhoods,” remarked de la Torre in her acceptance speech as winner in the Media category. “I am happy to report that El Clasificado.com just passed 4 million page views last month, most of which came from young and local Latinos. We’re ready for the next generation with Al Borde Mobile, Quinceañera.com and Pacoslist.com," she added. "We are using and engaging Facebook, Twitter and we look forward to continue being the grassroots, Hispanic media of choice for you and for the generations that follow."

This year’s NLBWA Latinas in Business Awards Los Angeles chapter event took place in The Cisco Design Center in Los Angeles, on June 5th, before a full-house audience that witnessed as remarkable Latina women from different backgrounds took the stage to receive awards honoring them as Corporate Leader of the Year, Business Woman of the Year, Inspirational Woman of the Year and Professional Women of the Year in the categories of Culinary Arts, Marketing, Media, Professional Services, Public Relations and Retail.

The National Latina Business Women’s Association, Los Angeles Chapter (NLBWA-LA), was established in July of 2003 to meet the needs of the growing ranks of Latina Entrepreneurs, Executives and Professionals from the greater Los Angeles area. NLBWA-LA’s mission is to encourage Latinas to develop their business and professional skills and to meet their career goals through education, business referrals and networking. The NLBWA-LA Latinas in Business Awards is attended by entrepreneurs, corporate representatives, elected officials, community and business leaders.
