Free Business Workshops in Spanish Provide Lifelines to Struggling Small Business Owners

EL CLASIFICADO presents small business seminar series for a fourth consecutive year
Los Angeles, CA –June 30, 2009— “How to Optimize Your Existing Resources to Capture and Retain Clients” was the theme of the seminar led by two well known Hispanic business and marketing experts at the latest “Su Socio de Negocios” small business breakfast workshop. With many businesses today affected by the economic recession, El Clasificado’s free networking event, held on Wednesday, June 17, attracted a sizable crowd of 80 Spanish-speaking micro entrepreneurs searching for new ways to give their organizations a lift.
Now with El Clasificado’s sixth small business breakfast event behind them, many Latino micro entrepreneurs have come to trust “Su Socio de Negocios” as an important tool to maximize their business operations.
“I think many business owners are desperate to find ways to stay afloat with the economy in the state it’s in,” remarked Luis Font, an entrepreneur from Ontario, California who participated in the last two “Su Socio de Negocios” breakfast events. “It is a great relief to find a networking event like Su Socio de Negocios, which provides an engaging and inspirational panel of speakers, and where my networking leads have actually developed into solid business allies.”
El Clasificado, a true anomaly as one of the few organizations to demonstrate substantial growth in the midst of an historic recession, has discovered a winning formula in giving back to the community through “Su Socio de Negocios”. El Clasificado’s strong commitment to its community has led to its placement for the third time since 2004 on the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC)’s 2009 Inner City 100, a list of the 100 fastest-growing companies in America’s inner cities.
The next scheduled “Su Socio de Negocios” event is the annual expo, scheduled for September 15, 2009. The expo will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Commerce, CA, and the presentations will focus on mobile technology, social media and online advertising.
The speakers for the June 2009 “Su Socio de Negocios” breakfast event were Eduardo Figueroa, Founder and President of Hispanic Business Consultants, and Patricia Gracia, Founder of Power Media Group. Event sponsors included Verizon Wireless and City National Bank.
“Su Socio de Negocios” is a series of free expos and breakfast networking seminars in Spanish, which El Clasificado began to offer Los Angeles’s burgeoning Hispanic small business community in 2006. Now entering its fourth year, the events have flourished from the original concept of 3 business expos per year, to a solid brand consisting of a weekly e-newsletter that reaches more than 4,000 small business clients per week, an interactive website that provides ongoing support with valuable editorial and a business resource directory, as well as one large expo and 5 smaller networking breakfasts per year.
The event series is presented by El Clasificado, a multi-media print, online and grassroots event marketing solutions company that connects buyers and sellers in the Hispanic community through its handful of niche-oriented websites. A verified publication with a weekly circulation of over 360,000, El Clasificado print reaches more than 1 million Latinos and is distributed in nearly 200 cities in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and San Diego Counties.
